Father's Day

We had a nice Father's Day, although we can't say it was terribly relaxing for poor Daddy. When you have a newborn and a toddler in the house, "down time" becomes a thing of the past. So what did we do? Well, Daddy opened his gift, which was an emergency preparedness kit. It had two flashlight/nightlights and a hand-crank weather radio. Daddy and Wyatt had a good time playing with the radio!

After a yummy pancake breakfast, we had some playtime (with Legos, of course!) and then Daddy mowed the yard, which we lovingly refer to as the pasture. (Mommy thinks we should get a couple of goats to take over this job!) Later, we went to Nana and Papaw's house and Wyatt took his first dip of the season in their pool.

Wyatt, Nana and Miss Ava had a good time splashing around, and we were all shocked to realize that Wyatt can actually stand up and touch the bottom! He's such a big boy! And what about Colby? Well, he'll be ready to swim next summer. This year, he was quite content getting a Father's Day moment with Papaw...

Those two are quite the pair! It's hard to tell who loves who more!

We missed getting to spend some time with Grandpa Danny on Father's Day, but we got to see him a couple of days later. He took Wyatt outside to walk around for a bit, and he held Colby. It reminded us of the first time he held Colby...

Aw, so sweet! Looks like he's got this Grandpa thing under control, doesn't he?

Mommy, Wyatt and Colby feel so lucky to have such great dads in our lives. You are all helpful, fun, loving examples of what our little boys should grow up to be!

Wordless Wednesday

Welcome, Colby!

Colby Wayne Hickle entered the world on Sunday, June 6, 2010, at 9:59 a.m. He was born five days early, much to everyone's surprise!

He weighed a healthy 8 lb., 2 oz., and was 20.5 inches long, the same length as big brother Wyatt. As you can see in the photo above, he has a healthy set of lungs!

We're still trying to decide who he most resembles, but in this photo he looks a lot like Daddy and Wyatt!

Just look at all that dark hair! He has long legs and blue eyes, so we think he's going to be tall, dark and handsome.

We're so happy to have Colby here. He is precious as can be, and everyone--especially Wyatt--loves him so much!

At the Park

Nothing makes Wyatt happier than a trip to the park. He likes to explore, watch other babies, and just enjoy being a kid.

Every park outing has to include time on the "hwing"...


...and definitely some time on the "hide"...
Yes, he prefers to slide on his belly. It's one of his little quirks.

He also likes to keep an eye on the big kids...


...and dig in the dirt...

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Today is Daddy's birthday, and Mommy and Wyatt want to wish him a wonderful day and another fantastic year! Thank you, Daddy, for being so caring and sweet. We love you soooo much!
