May in Pictures

We went to a butterfly show and a pretty black butterfly landed on Wyatt's yellow shirt. He was very patient and not at all freaked out. No surprise, considering he is our resident bug catcher.

We made caterpillars out of pieces of egg carton. Here's Colby adding antennae to his caterpillar.

Wyatt wrapped up a successful year of preschool. Here he is with two of his teachers, Miss Melanie and Miss Brenda. He also loved his teachers Miss Beth and Miss Gina.

A strong afternoon rainstorm caused our creek to swell. Here it is, looking like a raging river cutting through our yard.

We went to a Reds game with Mamaw, Grandpa, Auntie Laura and Winfield. There was a life-like dinosaur display that scared/amazed little Colby. As Wyatt approached a dinosaur and Colby noticed it moving, he screamed, "Wyatt, it's real! It's REAL!" over and over again. Hilarious.

We went to Barn-n-Bunk for brunch on Mother's Day. Wyatt and Colby had fun eating with Nana and Papaw and hearing all about Mommy and Daddy's wedding reception, which took place there seven(!) years ago.

Some MOMS Club friends came over for Fun with Bubbles. Here's Colby making a bubble snake!

See the dog stuck up in the "V" of that tree? That's Molly. We think she was going after a squirrel. Daddy climbed a ladder to help her down, but she decided to just jump. Yet more proof that she is part cat.

April in Pictures

We joined MOMS Club friends on a fire station tour. Here's Wyatt standing next to a firefighter in all his gear.

The boys posed next to the firefighter's lockers.

Colby became fascinated by dandelions, which he calls "dandylands". He likes to touch them and pick them and point them out everywhere.

We found a large toad next to our porch and Mommy caught it for the boys. Yes, you read that right--Mommy caught it (wearing big gloves).
Colby enjoyed playing 'light sabers' after Daddy introduced him to the Lego Star Wars cartoon.

Our toad smiling for the camera.

We attended cousin Sarah's wedding and the guys got dressed up. Here's Daddy and his mini-me.

Recent Happenings

We had a few days of nice weather recently. Wyatt decided it was "a good day to take your shirt off."

They were catching fish in the pond with a net. Two lucky fish are currently residing in a Menards bucket beside our porch.

Daddy and the boys built a bench for a little home improvement project Mommy is cooking up. Colby is great with a hammer.

Wyatt is great with a trash can.

Both boys enjoyed karate chopping the styrofoam boards from the package.

The finished product!

What our floor looks like on a daily basis. This is a landfill, by the way.

Mr. Personality.

Ms. Congeniality.

A Little Announcement

Meet Baby Hickle, version 3.0! Yes, we're expecting another little bundle of joy on August 9. And much to our excitement, we found out that this will make for three BOYS in our family! (Yes, Daddy is male, but as Colby explains it, he's not a boy but a grown-up!)

The boys have affectionately dubbed their baby brother Hunkerdinker. We have no earthly idea where they came up with this, and we promise it will not appear on the little guy's birth certificate.

We're excited to complete our family, and we are so looking forward to seeing Wyatt and Colby with the baby. We have some exciting times to come!

Easter 2013

We had a nice Easter this year, complete with egg dyeing...

Easter egg hunts...

and treats on Easter morning...

The boys were really excited to do the traditional Easter activities. Both of them "got" the idea of hunting for eggs. Colby spent several days afterward looking at his loot from the hunts. He would dump it out on the couch and talk about it, making sure not to eat it unless he had permission.
Wyatt was excited to dye eggs at Nana and Papaw's house. He had so many eggs going at once that one or two wound up rolling onto the floor. Both boys were excited to eat Easter lunch at Mamaw and Grandpa's house. When the ham was set on the table, Wyatt exclaimed, "Where'd you get that huge turkey, Mamaw!?" He then asked her why she was carving it with a "pitchfork" (it was really just a large fork from a carving set). Holidays are way more fun when you have two little guys to share them with!

March in Pictures

We had fun dyeing Easter eggs at Nana's house.

Colby pretends to be the Easter bunny.

Wyatt smiles big!

We went to an Easter Egg Hunt at the community park. Wyatt shows off his eggs.

Ava and Wyatt marvel at their candy prizes.

The Easter Bunny visited and left Wyatt some Bruder garbage cans.

And Colby got some toy dinosaurs!

Wyatt wrote Colby's name all by himself.

A slice-of-life pic. Here's little Colby, decked out in camo and stripes, washing his hands. Gotta love life with little boys!

Lucky

The boys woke up from their nap yesterday to find that a wee little man had visited our house. Lucky the Leprechaun left little footprints all over our counter and microwave!

He left behind a mysterious note and gold chocolate coins for the boys.

They searched high...

and low for Lucky...

Alas, a wee leprechaun is hard to catch!
