Wyatt's Reading List

1. Barnyard Dance by Sandra Boynton Wyatt loves the rhythm and rhymes in this book. He bounces and bops as Mommy reads the first line: "Stomp your feet, clap your hands, everybody ready for a barnyard dance!"

2. It's Night-Night Time by Twin Sisters Productions No bedtime routine is complete without a bedtime story, and this is Wyatt's favorite hands-down. When Mommy pulls it off the shelf he shrieks in excitement, and Daddy enjoys "editing" the story as he reads it aloud.

3. Baby Touch and Feel Animals by DK Publishing Wyatt is a very tactile little guy, so this book is right up his alley. He likes to feel the bunny's soft fur and the kitten's scratchy yarn.

4. Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You? by Dr. Seuss No children's reading list would be complete without Dr. Seuss. Wyatt loves this silly book of sound effects. His favorite sound is the buzz-buzz of the bees. It makes him giggle every time.

5. Spot Goes to the Farm by Eric Hill Wyatt's favorite! Mommy and Daddy often catch him reading this book on his own, his little fingers carefully lifting the flaps to discover what's underneath. Sometimes he "loves" this book a little too much and Mommy has to doctor up the flaps with scotch tape. Wyatt also has Spot's First Christmas, which he enjoys reading year-round.

We're sure his reading tastes will change as he grows, and we're excited to see what kind of reader Wyatt becomes. Will he be a lover of sci-fi and fantasy like Daddy, or will he prefer realistic fiction like Mommy? Only time will tell!

So, do any of you readers out there have a book recommendation for Wyatt? Leave a comment and tell us what books your little ones enjoyed!

  1. Wyatt needs to inherit his daddy's Dr. Suess collection as well as the Berenstain Bears. Daddy's favorite "Hop on Pop", and when he was a little older "Merle the High Flying Squirrel" by Bill Peet. Matter of fact he loved most of the books by Bill Peet. We would walk up to the library once every 2weeks to get an arm full of books when he was 2-3 yrs old at the old Germantown library. Ma maw can't wait to share those books with Wyatt. He seems to love books alot!

  3. I see GI Joe comics in the future.... and some day I'll be able to replace my audio books with Wyatt reading to me instead!

Jill does a fabulous job reading with Wyatt, teaching him new things such as waving and hugs and new words. A very good Mommy indeed!
