Wyatt's Wisdom

Mr. Wyatt decided to have a picnic lunch the other day. Unfortunately, it was about forty degrees and raining outside, so he had to settle for a blanket on the living room floor. It was good enough for him, though! Oh, and do you see that open brochure on his left? That's a vacuum cleaner sales brochure from Lowe's. The obsession is still healthy and thriving.

While life with a two-year-old can be challenging at times, it can also be very amusing. Just looking at the world through his point of view reminds us that the obvious is not always so obvious. Here are some of the funny things that Wyatt has said recently:

As we were waiting in line at the Kroger U-Scan, Wyatt said, "That the pizza man!" Mommy looked over to notice that the man in the next line was wearing a Domino's Pizza jacket. Just as Mommy was thinking what a bright boy Wyatt was, he blurted out, "He don't belong at Kroger!" Thankfully, the man didn't hear him, but if you think about it, Wyatt's statement makes sense. The pizza man belongs at the pizza place, not the grocery store.

On a recent warm, sunny day, Wyatt declared, "It hot out today!" Mommy confirmed his statement, leading Wyatt to add, "Time for Nana to get out her pool!" Never mind that it's February in Ohio; you get in the pool on warm, sunny days, and that's what kind of day we were having.

As the rain poured down during Wyatt's picnic, Mommy asked him, "Where does rain come from, Wyatt?" He thought for a long time and then exclaimed, "From the ceiling!" And what is the sky, but the ceiling outside?
