Thirteen Months

Mr. Colby, a month has already gone by since you turned one. We were so wrapped up with celebrating your big day and getting new floors and planting a garden and enjoying the start of summer that we didn't quite get around to writing your Twelve Month monthday post.

So what are you up to these days? A better question would be what aren't you up to? You love to be on the go! One of Mommy's favorite sounds is the pitter patter of those little feet on the new floors. We definitely know when you're coming and going!

And when you finally do slow down, you can usually be found examining a toy or preparing to pounce on your big brother. Yes, you seem to have taken on the role of aggressor! Thankfully, Wyatt seems to like "wrestling" with you. And Mommy and Daddy have to admit that it is hilarious to see the little brother trying to hold down his big brother!

One thing you've recently taken interest in is coloring with crayons. You must have learned this through observing Wyatt. One day, you just wandered over to the table, grabbed a crayon, and started to make a coloring motion. Mommy stuck a piece of paper in front of you, and you began creating your first masterpiece. It was so exciting to see you doing something new for the first time! Of course, you inevitably decided to eat the crayon, but we'll work on that!

 

Mr. Colby, we sure are having fun with you these days! Your personality is unfolding, and we love seeing you learn new things and interact with your brother. Mommy loves seeing you cuddle with Daddy (who seems to be your favorite person these days)! We can't wait to see what the next few months bring, and as always, we love you more than words can express!
